Minimally Invasive Dental Care That Lasts

Dr. Leanna Ursales, DDS

Dr. Leanna Ursales, DDS, was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States at age 11 while her family was en route to serve as medical missionaries in Gimbie, Africa. She comes from a family deeply rooted in both medicine and music. Her father and sisters are physicians, her mother is a trained musician with a law degree, and her brother and brother-in-law are ortho-prosthetists.

Dr. Ursales earned her undergraduate degree in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego, in 2007. She then completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Biomedical Sciences and Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine before being accepted into the university’s School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014.

Over the past decade, Dr. Ursales has focused on expanding her expertise through advanced dental training. Her practice philosophy emphasizes evidence-based, purpose-driven dentistry. She earned a mastership in Biomimetic Dentistry through The Alleman Center, focusing on minimally invasive and tooth-preserving techniques. She was also trained in implant dentistry and soft tissue grafting at both Loma Linda School of Dentistry and the Global Institute for Dental Education (gIDE) under Dr. Sascha Jovanovic in Los Angeles. In 2024, she began further training with SPEAR Education in Arizona.

In her personal time, Dr. Ursales enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through workouts at her local and home gyms. She has participated in numerous distance races, including half and full marathons in places like Guam, Monterey, Oahu, and Kauai. Her favorite way to unwind is vacationing with her family and dogs. Her travel bucket list includes hiking the Napali Coast, visiting National Parks outside California, exploring New Zealand, and eventually retiring in Japan.
